LOBATSE: The battle between former judge Dr Onkemetse Tshosa and the state is far from over.

Tshosa who resigned days before a tribunal set up by the President to investigate misconduct against him, has now approached the High Court seeking to overturn his conviction. Tshosa wants to overturn his conviction and suspended sentence of 18 months imprisonment and P1,000 for assaulting a police officer and failure to provide a breath specimen.

Late last month, Tshosa launched his appeal but the case could not proceed, as the record of proceedings from the magistrate court were unavailable. At that juncture, Justice Lot Moroka postponed the case to November for a status hearing. In the interim, Moroka ordered that the Registrar of High Court avail the said record by October 22.
