MAHALAPYE: With only two weeks to go, Mahalapye East MP Botlogile Tshireletso is reportedly leading the race for the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) primaries in the constituency.

She seems to enjoy solid support in the constituency's eight wards. For the August 30 primaries, Tshireletso has nine of the 10 elected councillors (including two nominated ones) on her side. Only the councillor for Dibete/Pallaroad is rooting for one of the MP's opponents, Lazarus Lekgoanyana, a former sales manager with Bolux Milling. The other opponent is ex-Commissioner of Prisons, Joseph Orebotse.

Dovedale/Mmaphashalala councillor, Neo Magowe, a staunch supporter of Tshireletso said they have done a great deal of work to sell her.
