Trucking an HIV factor in the Chobe - Coordinator

Unemployment, the road network for trucks, and a high rate of movement of people from different areas of the country and the world are factors fuelling the high prevalence rate of HIV in the Chobe District, an AIDS Coordinator has observed.

Bokole said in an interview in Palapye that in the sentinel surveillance conducted on people with sexually transmitted diseases and pregnant women in 2003, Chobe had a 47 percent prevalence rate.
