Trio plead not guilty to murder charge

FRANCISTOWN: Three men facing a single count of murder pleaded not guilty before Justice Moses Chinhengo of the Francistown High Court yesterday. The trio were represented by Roger Calendar from Calendar Attorneys while Thebeitsile Mulalu, from the Directorate on Public Prosecutions (DPP) represented the state.

It is alleged that on August 16, 2007, the trio - Thato Mafuta, 20, Lethata Majoo, 23, and Thatayaone Tiroyame, 17, all from Tonota - murdered Anywhere Ngwenaya at Tonota.

Kgosiemang Kgosiemang, 49, said on that day he met the three at a certain shebeen in Tonota that is operated by a woman he only knows as Mma Sekate, where he had gone to buy cigarettes.
