Trial dates won't change, FNB accused told

KANYE: Thirteen former First National Bank (FNB) employees have pleaded not guilty to a single count of theft by servant but their trial dates will not be changed.

Appearing before Kanye magistrate Kamogelo Khan yesterday, the 13 accused persons - Edward Buru, Kefilwe Motona, Speech Motlapele, Keobotse Rabakoko, Lebogang Buru, Tuelo Randy Ramosarwa, Keromemang Motona, Basetsana Setimela, Themba Setimela, Keipatile Dikole, Ronald Mongwaketse, Boikhutso Moagi and Remogoone Moagi - brought their legal team which will defend them in December when the trial begins. At the commencement of the case, prosecutor Inspector Ntoko Simane told the court that they (the prosecution team) are ready, and asked the court to set trial dates.  In the absence of Duma Boko, who is representing five of the accused persons, Magistrate Khan declared: "I am not going to change the dates that had already been confirmed by other attorneys representing the other accused persons whether your attorney is here or not."

She told the court that at the last appearance, she ordered that all accused persons should bring their attorneys to confirm trial dates.
