Perhaps those worried should take solace from what one BOFEPUSU official said recently; that his organisation will not give blind support to anybody. Tshekstsheko Lekang has said that if the BDP were to lose power, BOFEPUSU would support the ruling party only as long as its policies promote the interests of the workers and would stop supporting that government the moment it becomes indifferent to the plight of the workers.
A look at history will show that trade unionism in latter times has not divorced politics. In the first place, trade unionism entails the coming together of workers to achieve common goals.
