Toe the line - Salaries Commission

FRANCISTOWN: The Presidential Salaries Commissioners have advised public servants who present before them to stick to the terms of reference that govern the commission. This was said on Monday at the ongoing public hearings at Ntshe House Library Conference room in Francistown.

Chairing the Commission group Dr Tebogo Matome said the majority of submissions so far have been the demand for various "unreasonable" allowances. 

"It will help us if people stick to the terms of reference, give us the problem statement and their suggested recommendations.  It would be better to suggest to government to review the load of work and risks involved and then adjust your salaries accordingly.
He further advised that public servants should also recommend that their departmental structures also be reviewed because most of the allowances demanded shows that they perform jobs beyond their call of duty.
