Police in Tlokweng are investigating a possible rape of a 28-year-old woman by a man whom she had spent the night drinking with at a local bar on Friday night.

The pair initially met at the bar in the evening, and later that night, the 32-year-old suspect allegedly invited the victim to his place where they continued drinking. Superintendent Unoziba Rari, the commander of Tlokweng police station, stated that they received the report on Saturday morning around 8am after the pair had spent the night together.

"The victim alleges that the suspect raped her, while the suspect claims there was consent. "It's one person's word against the other, but we have since arrested the suspect, and he is currently in custody pending investigations to establish what really transpired," Rari said.
