Three people died on the spot following a Honda Fit hitting a pedestrian, drifting off the road and ramming into a truck parked metres away from the road in Tsolamosese, Gaborone.

The driver of the Honda Fit and one of his three passengers died while the two others survived the accident with serious injuries. According to the police, the road mishap occurred on Saturday late afternoon near Choppies supermarket.

Divisional traffic officer for South Central, assistant commissioner, Reginald Matlhaba told The Monitor that the unlicensed 25-year-old driver of the speeding Honda Fit hit the pedestrian that was trying to cross the road, killing him instantly before hitting the truck parked metres away from the road.
