Three Batswana arrested in Zimbabwe

Victoria Falls: Zimbabwean police have announced the arrest of three workers at Debswana Diamond Mining Company after they allegedly assaulted a local civil servant attached to the Vehicle Inspection Department (VID) this week.

The trio, whose names police refused to disclose yesterday, were arrested on Tuesday this week in Victoria Falls, western Zimbabwe.

Assistant Inspector, Philip Mpofu, police spokesman for Matabeleland North province, under which the resort town falls, confirmed the arrests of the three Batswana, adding that investigations were still underway to establish the circumstances behind the alleged confrontation.
