He murdered his girlfriend.
Then he callously chopped up her body and tried to burn the pieces.

Then he buried the dismembered remains in various shallow graves along the Tati River and pretended he did not know where she was, even assisting the police and members of the public in the search for her. Now he must die for the brutal act, the Court of Appeal has ruled.

Zibane Thamo left the court last Thursday in tears after last-ditch efforts by his legal representatives to overturn a High Court ruling that he should hang for his offence failed to convince a panel of three judges.
