This is unbelievable!

The nation is going through its most difficult time since independence from Britain in 1966.

The systems are collapsing and everything is coming to a halt.  In times like these, the voice of a senior citizen can cool tempers and emotions, and return the whole situation to normalcy.   But that seems not to be the case in this country, especially as far as the head of State President Ian Khama is concerned.  Despite repeated calls on the president to address the nation on the ongoing strike, the man seems not bothered at all about what is going on in his country.

While the strike enters its 30th day today, Khama seems more interested in other things than the welfare and the future of this nation.  On Monday evening, the national television aired what was supposed to be a statement by the ailing Vice President Mompati Merafhe.  It had no meaning and left more questions than answers.  The man only started work a few days ago, after five months on sick leave, and it is evident that he still needs time to heal.  Or perhaps the VP should consider stepping down to go and heal at home and give way for young brains, who are more energetic and filled with ambition.
