Ngami MP, Taolo Goyamang Habano of the Botswana Congress Party (BCP), is a proud Moyeyi. When he talks about his boyhood in the land of his birth, Gumare, it becomes obvious that the Wayeyi are not referred to as 'the river people' for nothing.

It was a childhood of water, water and more water. Historians refer to Bayeyi as the river people because of their experience and deep understanding of aquatic life. Their migratory records reveal that they followed rivers from Central Africa until they reached Botswana.
