Members of the Negotiations Task Force involved in umbrella talks have declared that the role of communicating opposition unity issues lies with the conveners only.

In a missive to the media, signed by conveners Lebang Mpotokwane and Emang Maphanyane and party team leaders Nehemiah Modubule (Botswana Movement for Democracy) Batisani Maswibilili, Richard Gudu of Botswana Peoples Party and Abram Kesupile of Botswana National Front the taskforce raises concern over recent media reports that sourced news on the umbrella project from unnamed sources.

"Of course the speculations have not been assisted by leaks to the media that led to distortions, fabrications and misinformation about the process, participating parties and the subject core to the purpose of the negotiations itself," they say.
