The Relevance Of Emang Basadi Today

Emang Basadi has for long become synonymous with the women's movement in this country, but lately many have come to question what has happened to the fiery bygone days when gender activists were clearly and visibly on the map.

Over the years, Emang Basadi and the gender movement as a whole has become less vocal.  These days you may not even know who the president of Emang Basadi is.  Gone are the days of the fiery gender activists like Motsei Rapelan, Elsie Alexander and Joyce Anderson.

However, the executive director of Emang Basadi, Idah Mokereitane said the organisation has not become dormant.  Mokereitane insists that the gender movement is still relevant today.
