The BNF has now reached the danger point. Not even a cosmetic roll of the dice can predict how the two warring factions are going to fare in the elections. But the fight for the control of the party rests with whoever grabs the presidency. On one corner stands the incumbent president Otsweletse Moupo, who will face long time ally and party vice president Dr Kathleen Letshabo. Moupo ascended to the BNF presidency in 2001 and held firmly to the position up until he lost grip when he fell out with his comrades after he got entangled in controversies. However, those who know him describe him as a street fighter. He is credited with writing many of the party's political literature when he served in the political education portfolio. Moupo's political career in the BNF dates back to the early 1970s but it might end in Molepolole if he does not emerge victorious.
