The departure of a political 'gentleman'

Confidantes of the MP for Kgalagadi North Obakeng Moumakwa generally describe him as a gentleman. Some say he is a very principled man who knows when to stay put or to bolt.

Others say he is a very cultured man that abhors controversy. This week after he announced that he is quitting as an MP, he finds himself at the centre of what could be the biggest controversy of his life.

"I cannot lie to you. This has been a very difficult and painful decision that I had to make. Ever since I made public my decision to quit Parliament, I have not had it easy," he confessed to Mmegi at his parliamentary office, just across from the National Assembly.
