Thamaga police officer commits suicide

In an interview with Mmegi, the Botswana Police Service’s spokesperson, assistant commissioner Witness Bosija confirmed that they are investigating a case of a police officer alleged to have committed suicide in police cell at the Molepolole police station.
“Investigations on the matter are still at an initial stage and I cannot comment any further because we are yet to establish what really transpired that day but what I know is that he had used someone’s car without authority,” Bosija said. Asked whom the car belonged to and what the officer used to take his life, Bosija said investigations to establish those factors are still ongoing.
