Thabo Masilo may testify in his trial

Thabo Masilo could take the stand in his own defence in the case in which he is accused of raping and robbing a woman in August 2012.

Yesterday, his lawyer, Kgosietsile Ngakayagae told Mmegi that his client could take the stand depending on the outcome of testimony from state witnesses.

The state alleges that the 22-year-old former Botho University student brutally raped and robbed a woman in her Phase IV home causing her grievous bodily harm in the process. The trial before Chief Magistrate, Linah Oahile-Mokibe, is already at an advanced stage with two witnesses taking the stand.
