Teachers' salary hike next month

TSOLAMOSESE: The Assistant Minister of Education, Patrick Masimolole has told a Kgotla meeting in his Mogoditshane constituency that teachers' salaries will be hiked next month.

Masimolole said that the ministry is working on ways of  accommodating all teachers to uplift their morale and improve services. He explained that the developments are meant to improve teachers' performance.

He told residents that the ministry is aware that there is need for another primary school in Tsolamosese as the village has grown. He said that Lesirane Primary School can no longer cater for all the children in the area. He said the country is still affected by the recession and that when things get better, the ministry will build a school in Tsolamosese. Some parents pointed out that Lesirane is far from their homes and makes life difficult, especially for Standard Ones. They said that as the ward has expanded, some children stay very far, which forces them to wake up early in the morning to walk to school and this is not safe. They said that children who walk long distances arrive at school tired and cannot concentrate in class.
