Teachers in "breakthrough" invigilation terms with MoE

The Ministry of Education (MoE) has finally made a commitment to finance the ongoing invigilation of examinations, through the Botswana Examinations Council (BEC) after long deliberations with teachers' organisations that started on Wednesday.

According to the president of the Botswana Secondary Teachers Union (BOSETU), Shandukani Hlabano, it has been agreed that a fee of P28 per hour will be paid to teachers who will have an additional hour added for coming 50 minutes before the start of an exam they are invigilating and leaving 30 minutes after the end of an exam.

Examinations committee members who are responsible for the logistics of running examinations will also be paid P28 per hour.
