Taxi driver denies wounding charge

A 28-year-old taxi driver has been arraigned before Broadhurst Magistrate Ralehika-Phiri charged with a single count of unlawful wounding.

The knife-wielding Moemedi Motseotsile, who pleaded not guilty to the charge, is accused of stabbing one Onneile Ramatlhape with a knife or sharp instrument on July 5 this year at Phokoje location, Gaborone.

The suspect told the court that he would be conducting his own defence, while Kabelo Malaole, from the Botswana Police Services, appeared for Pilane from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
