Tap into Diamond Hub opportunities - Khama

President Ian Khama has urged the local private sector to "rise to the occasion" and generate new employment opportunities by providing services that will be in demand due to the new impetus of the economy as a result of the 10-year sales agreement between Botswana and De Beers.

The new agreement, as well as the development of the Diamond Hub into an international diamond centre, provides "tremendous" opportunities for the private sector, Khama said.

Addressing the High Level Consultative Council (HLCC) in Gaborone yesterday, Khama speculated that with a significant number of diamond companies expected to set up office in Gaborone, there will be an increase in demand for office space as well as residential properties.
