Swartz admits poor supervision of projects

TOPISI: The Minister of Infrastructure Science and Technology, Johnny Swartz, has admitted that there has been poor supervision of government projects that has ultimately led to shoddy work.

Addressing a kgotla meeting in Topisi on Tuesday Swartz said as a result of lack of supervision a lot of government infrastructure is in deplorable condition and cited Dibete Police Station as an example. "We were negligent in monitoring the contractors and only came in to be handed over the projects," he said.

He said as government they are now in a position to correct this anomaly as they fight the rampant corruption that resulted from the poor supervision.
