Suspensions hit BNF-inclined SRC

University of Botswana (UB) security officers had to close the office of the Student Representative Council (SRC) on Tuesday after a war of words erupted between two factions of the SRC over funds exceeding P80, 000.

The factions - one led by the president of the SRC, the other by the vice president and the minister of entertainment and culture - traded accusations of embezzlement.
The incumbent SRC is Botswana National Front-inclined.

The vice president Nico Selobilwe and minister of entertainment and culture, Morati Keitshokile demanded the sacking of the president, MacDonald 'Chillyboy' Rakgare, which they said was overdue.
