“Members are informed that at the request of some members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) in particular, the president and general secretary convened a NEC on April 26, 2019,” reads a statement from Mogwera. “At the meeting, the deputy president declared that the meeting did not form a quorum and such had to adjourn. But some NEC members proceeded with the meeting and took a resolution to reconvene another one on the following day.”
The statement further said at the commencement of the meeting held on April 27, 2019 at Regent Hotel, some members of the NEC raised an objection on the legal and constitutionality of the meeting.
