Striking civil servants walk out on Seretse

KASANE: More than 500 striking civil servants walked out of a Kgotla meeting addressed by Assistant Minister of Finance and Development Planning, Vincent Seretse after an argument between one of their members and the deputy district commissioner.

The civil servants were angered by an announcement by the District Commissioner and his deputy that led to the director of ceremonies ordering the civil servants to shut up.

The assistant minister made the situation worse when he said that he was not going to answer any questions relating to the ongoing strike.
