Three elephants whose tracks were spotted in the Tswapong and Mahalapye areas last week may have followed their ancient route to their former habitat, according to the Central District Council (CDC) senior wildlife biologist, Balisana Marotsi.

Marotsi says years ago, the area where the three elephants' tracks were spotted last week used to be home to elephant populations that later spread to the Motloutse/Shashe area.

However, the three elephants found different conditions in their terrain of old; a territory replete with human habitation.
