Strauss-Kahn sex case: French inquiry dropped

The French inquiry into sex assault allegations against former IMF chief, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, has been dropped by the prosecutor's office.

It said there had been "recognised sex acts", but that there was prescription, Reuters news agency reports.French writer, Tristane Banon had accused Strauss-Kahn of attempted rape in 2003. Her accusation emerged while Strauss-Kahn was accused of rape in New York; that case was later dropped. (AFP)
