Storm brewing at Prisons HQ

FRANCISTOWN: A storm is brewing at the Prisons and Rehabilitation headquarters in Gaborone, where the Deputy Commissioner of Prisons and Rehabilitation, Malebogo Masire faces a clash with some of the department's promotions board members.

At the centre of the wrangle are Masire's alleged utterances last Tuesday that some warders were already not happy with the promotions before they were even confirmed and released by the highest authority.

The promotions are yet to be confirmed by Commissioner Herman Kau, who is expected to return from sick leave on May 2.
