Stop! Venson-Moitoi!

While the government of Botswana and indeed the world condemns undemocratic tendencies including limiting Freedom of Expression by the Robert Mugabe regime in Zimbabwe.

Minister Pelonomi Venson-Moitoi seems to be  the only who admires President Mugabe's undemocratic tendencies. Venson-Moitoi wants to outshine Mugabe by bringing a bill that gives her political office control over the press. Other than allowing the press to function under a self regulated mechanism as it is done in the democratic world. Venson-Moitoi wants to bring a piece of legislation that compares to Mugabe 's Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act (AIPPA), an act that outlawed most foreign and local journalists to practice in Zimbabwe.  We urge the public, parliament, and civic society to stop Venson-Moitoi' s Media Practitioners bill.
