Officer commanding No 10 District, Senior Superintendent Takongwa Mazwiduma, has expressed concern at the increase in stocktheft in Bobirwa.

Speaking at an anti-stocktheft workshop at Molalatau Kgotla on Wednesday, Mazwiduma said No 10 District, which covers Bobirwa and some parts of Tswapong and the Central District, recorded 290 stocktheft cases last year.He said it was disturbing that the number looks set to grow as 277 livestock theft cases have already been recorded in the first quarter of this year alone, with the Bobonong region leading with 100 cases.

Livestock go missing and earmarks are tampered with, the audience heard. Speaking at the same workshop, former Member of Parliament for Bobirwa, James Maruatona reiterated the importance of joining hands with the police.
