Stock-theft accused are acquitted

FRANCISTOWN: Two young men who were accused of stealing two calves breathed a sigh of relief on Thursday when a magistrate absolved them of stock-theft.

The two, Mooketsi Medupi and Puisanyo Modumowamotse, were alleged to have stolen two calves at Mmamasiloanoka cattle post near Serule in the Central Administrative District on October 15, 2005.

Grief could be seen all over the faces of the two men when they were called to stand in the dock to learn of their fate, but they were soon all smiles on hearing that they were free.
