State witness breaks down in court

Patrick Phozokwa will rue the day he set foot at the Village Magistrates Court in Gaborone to give evidence. He took the stand as an accomplice prosecution witness in a case of uttering a false receipt and broke down under relentless grilling by defence counsel Unoda Mack.

He said he was scared and he could not recall the details of the crime properly. Phozokwa was an accomplice witness for the state, in a case in which Kgale Madibane is charged with uttering a revoked receipt in March 2003.
