State ministry distances itself from Tautona Lodge procurement

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry for State President, Goitsemang Morekisi, has absolved her ministry from the ‘controversial’ procurement of Tautona Lodge.

Tautona Lodge has been a subject of controversy since its 2021 acquisition by the previous Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) administration at a value of P58.2 million.

Appearing before the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on Monday, Morekisi who is the ministry’s Accounting Officer, was at difficulty to explain what actually led to the decision to acquire the hotel, saying the Directorate of Intelligence and Security (DIS) was better placed to give the answers.
