Spare a thought for learners with disabilities - child leaders

The new leaders of the Children's Consultative Forum (CCF), who were voted into office last week, have called on government to introduce inclusive education to more schools around the country to give learners with disabilities equal access to quality education.

Karabo Loeto, the chairperson and her vice-chairperson Tshepiso Masilonyane, both aged 14, expressed concern that the quality of education learners with disabilities receive is "compromised" on account of limited resources.

The duo were speaking to Mmegi on the sidelines of a CCF meeting last week, at which 160 children representatives from all districts across the country voted them into their positions.
