Social worker testifies about sexual assault

MOCHUDI: A social worker, Sarah Gaseitsiwe, testifying at the Mochudi Magistrates Court where Vincent Monageng faces indecent assault of a four year old, says the child does not understand what happened to her.

Gaseitsiwe was assigned to assess the child's emotional, psychological and mental state.

She said she provided counseling for the child as well as the family and also attempted to ascertain how the incident had affected the child. Gaseitsiwe related how the child recounted that she had been playing at Monageng's place, where he undressed her before assaulting her sexually. She said they both dressed up before he took her home.
