Skelemani walks for charity

FRANCISTOWN: The walk started at a brisk pace Saturday morning with the chief walker, Francistown East Member of Parliament (MP) Phandu Skelemani and his wife in black leotards leading the way out of Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital.

As the walkers detoured at the corner of the High Court building, facing Galo Shopping Centre, Skelemani's stride and easy-going disposition belied what he revealed afterwards that he woke up feeling under the weather that morning, his stomach playing up.

"I did not feel like eating anything when I woke up this morning. My stomach was just not the way I know it. But I told myself that come what may, there was no way I was going to miss such an important undertaking," said Skelemani to an appreciative and sweaty crowd that gathered inside the grass-thatched shed in the foreground of the Infectious Disease Care Centre (IDCC) after a two-and-a-half kilometre sponsored walk.
