Shop assistants form union

Cashiers and shop floor workers have registered the Cashiers, Shop Assistants and Allied Workers Union (CSAAWU) to fight for their rights.

The union was registered with the Registrar of Trade Unions and Employers’ Organisation last year, and is led by president Opelo Baleseng.

According to the Government Gazette, the union was formed on July 22, 2014, and will be operating from the bus station in Gaborone.
