SHHA funds disappear in Maun

MAUN: Beneficiaries of the Self-Help Housing Agency (SHHA) in Maun have not received assistance for months with the authorities seemingly at unaware about the disappearance of funds meant for the scheme.

Reports say North West District Council (NWDC) officials have misdirected funds meant for the programme, but the council secretary, Kwele Puso has stated that he does not know where the money went. It is said a report presented to the finance and performance-monitoring committee of the NWDC in September indicated that funds for the SHHA programme were credited to the wrong votes.
