Shavathon supports cancer patients

Cancer Association of Botswana (CAB) on Saturday held its third Shavathon, a fundraising event that encourages people to shave and colour spray their hair in support of cancer patients.

The event was held at Riverwalk under the theme, "Dare to go bare."
CAB coordinator Letsebeng Mosimi- Gabontshwe said cancer patients' often lose their hair during chemotherapy and shavathon is a way for people to show their care and support during this time. "All proceeds will go towards cancer care," she said.

Adults were charged P50 for shaving and spraying, children over the age of 12 were charged P25, while children under 12 years of age and poodles P15.
