Shashemooke residents doubt Chinese capability

FRANCISTOWN: Residents of Shashemooke village are doubtful whether construction of the road to Francistown will ever be completed.

 They say their doubts are based on the fact that the contract has been awarded to a Chinese company, Unik Construction. The construction of the road that links the village and Francistown through Gerald Estate started last month but residents say they do not trust the contractor.

They argued that majority of projects awarded to Chinese companies in the city and elsewhere have been abandoned without completion.   Particularly, residents cite the construction of the road to the Francistown Stadium that a Chinese company left unfinished.
