Shanti-lo to share stage with jazz greats

Fresh from Sweden, Afro-jazz singer Shanti-Lo (real name Tumediso Loeto) is set to appear alongside American jazz greats, David Sanborn and Joe Sample at the FNB All That Jazz festival scheduled for Gaborone on July 5th and 6th.

Shanti-Lo said he was elated to be performing in the same show with the two legends."Twelve years ago when I started out as a jazz musician, the thought of me sharing the stage with these international artists, let alone perform in such a high profile event never crossed my mind," he said.Sanborn is one of the most sought after contemporary jazz artists of this generation, having won six Grammy Awards.

With 27 albums to his credit, Sanborn's broad appeal transcends most categories and genres.Sample, on the other hand, is a world leading pianist, composer, and keyboard player. A founder of the Jazz Crusaders, Sample ventured into various genres using jazz as the base of his compositions.His classics include Soul Shadows and Spell Bound. He is also well-travelled having toured the world with the likes of Marvin Gaye, Eric Clapton, Joe Cocker , Randy Crawford, Tina Turner and Anita Baker.
