Seventy-two year-old businesswoman dies in accident

FRANCISTOWN: Police have confirmed that a 72-year-old woman died after she rammed into a stationary truck, causing a pile-up as the car behind her hit her bakkie in the back at Tatitown Bridge.

According to reports, the woman, who runs a catering service in town, was driving her Isuzu bakkie to work at 6am when she hit a stationary truck by the Tatitown bridge.

The truck had had a breakdown the previous day. Before she could reverse, a Toyota Hilux hit the back of her bakkie. According to Superitendent Tebogo Madisa, Tatitown Police Station Commander, the woman died at the hospital from chest and arm injuries.  The Toyota Hilux driver suffered minor injuries on his arm and is recovering at the hospital.
