Serowe police are investigating a case in which a 45-year-old man of Dinokwane ward allegedly locked himself inside the house, set it on fire and hanged himself to death last week Thursday.

Neighbours watched helplessly as the house went up in smoke only to discover the house owner's body hanging by a rope from what remained of the rafters.

The incident was confirmed by Superintendent Poloko Oteng who said the deceased left no suicide note.

“We suspect no foul play and believe that this is a clear suicide case," said Oteng, adding that the deceased was certified dead by Sekgoma Memorial Hospital doctors.
