Seretse, Venson-Moitoi Bury Hatchet

"Whoever thought I and former cabinet Minister Tebelelo Seretse were enemies was wrong," laughs Communications, Science and Technology minister, Pelonomi Venson-Moitoi, as she takes to the podium at a RPC Data function last Friday.

This should have rekindled fond memories of the past days of bitter rivalry between the two ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) politicians during the 2004 Bulela Ditswe primaries, which Venson-Moitoi won twice.

Held at the Gaborone International Convention Centre (GICC), the event was organised to mark the launch of the RPC Data citizen empowerment. Instead of sticking to the formalities, Venson-Moitoi and Seretse took guests down the memory lane and exhibited gestures of people that have buried the hatchet. They sat close to each other and they were really dressed to kill. They murmured in low tones and broke into long laughters.
