Seretse licks wounds in duel with gritty 'DK'

FRANCISTOWN: University of Botswana (UB) political science lecturer, Dr Zibani Maundeni, says Tebelelo Seretse's failure to gain observer status at the coming Botswana Democratic Party congress in July, losing to members of the Kedikilwe-Kwelagobe faction in Serowe, will have little bearing on her bid for the position of chairperson.

"What the last weekend voting shows is that the Seretse group seemingly forgot that delegates are elected along factional lines. So, this is a message to the whole faction that if they don't check themselves, they may lose," analyses Maundeni.

His position is that the faction that has more delegates at congress "will definitely win because elections are a game of numbers".
