In an interview with Mmegi, Seretse said after the organisation approached parliamentary committees, he told them that instead of approaching MPs, they should lobby members of the public so that they may interact directly with people to see if they were receptive of their orientation, which is criminalised and seen as deviant behaviour by the larger Botswana society.
"My view is that as leaders, we have the responsibility to teach people so that they appreciate new trends," Seretse said. "But at the same time, we cannot be seen to be disturbing the general peace in the larger society.
