Seretse eyes Women's Wing top post

Former cabinet minister, Tebelelo Seretse, says she will contest the BDP Women's Wing presidency to replace incumbent Botlogile Tshireletso who is retiring. The BDP Women's Wing goes to the polls in May when it holds its national congress at Tati Siding in North East District. It is expected that the congress will focus on the 30 percent quota for women in council and government leadership positions.

In an interview with Mmegi yesterday, Seretse said in Gaborone that should she win, she would strive to work with dedicated BDP activists in the run-up to the 2009 general election.

"I must emphasise that should I win, I would want to work with women who would be prepared to sacrifice for the party," she said.
