The Assistant Minister of Trade and Industry Vincent Seretse, has denied reports that he is mobilising his campaign team to start groundwork in the Lentsweletau Constituency, ahead of the 2014 general elections.

In an interview last week, Seretse, who is a specially-elected Member of Parliament, said that the Constitution of the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) does not allow members to start campaigning before the central committee has granted them permission.

"The constitution disallows anybody to campaign at this point in time, thus nobody can campaign right now," he said. However, he said that he has visited the constituency, in his capacity as assistant minister and not as a party activist.
